Ball Valve

The ball valves provided by Weldon mainly include Trunnion mounted ball valves, Floating ball valves, Double block and bleed ball valves, Fully Welded ball valves, Top entry ball valves, Metal seal ball valves, etc. 
The ball valves are open when the ball's hole is in line with the flow and closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle, the ball is driven by the valve stem and can be closed tightly with a small torque. Due to its ease operation, repair, and versatility, ball valve is widely used in petroleum refining, chemical, eletcric power pipeline to cut, regulate and change the flow diretcion of the medium.

The sealing of the floating ball valve is realized by the pressure of the medium, when the ball valve is closed, the floating ball is pressed against the sealing surface under the action of pressure, the seal of the floating ball valve is the single-side seal. The floating ball valves are suitable for medium and low pressure and usually has a small diameter less than 4 inches.
 

The ball of trunnion mounted ball valves is fixed, does not move under the medium pressure. Trunnion ball valve has floating seats, the seats move with the medium pressure to tight the ball and seal ring to ensure sealing reliability. The trunnion mounted ball valves are widely used in high pressure conditions and the size can be up to 60 inches.

Design features of Trunnion mounted ball valves:
Operation: Extended lever is easy for operation and available for gear, motor, pneumatic actuator for more different service.
Packing: Graphite for high temperature, Standard packing, multiple V-TEFLON packing combined with live loading. 
Body & Bonnet: 2 pieces below 12 inches, 3 pieces above 14 inches. Split body is easy for component repair.
Bore: Full bore or Reduced port can be seletced.
Fire safe: Design according to API 607 & BS 6755. When Non-Mental resilient seats are destroyed in a fire, the upstream medium pressure push the ball into the downstream metal seat lip to cutoff the line fluid and prevent the internal leakage due to secondary metal to metal seal.

The fully-welded ball valve adopts welded body, instead of bolts and nuts, to avoid any potential leakage from body, have very stable performance and long service life. Weldon Fully welded ball valves are suitable for use both on natural gas distribution network and liquid service when high performance and low pressure drop are required.
 

The Top entry ball valves are designed for easy maintenance in the pipeline, When the ball valve needs to be repaired in the pipeline, it is not necessary to remove the valve from the pipeline. It is only necessary to remove the middle flange bolt and nut, take the bonnet and the stem assembly together from the top entry ball valve body, and then take out the ball and valve, the ball and seat can be repaired online. This maintenance saves time and minimizes the cost.
 

Double block and bleed (DBB) ball valves are single valve with two seating surfaces, each of which, in the closed position, provides a seal against pressure from a single source. Double block and bleed ball valve works as an alternative to the in-line installation of two valves, have the result in reducing costs.
 

Metal seated ball valves are mainly used in harsh conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, solid particles, fibers, powders, etc., so reasonable structural design and high processing technology are necessary.

Main Features of Metal seated hard surface ball valves:
Applied to server working conditions for a wide range of temperature, up to 500℃ （932 F）and corrosive fluid.
The stainless seat is firmed by the spring, applied to various operation conditions, not only improve the seal performance, but also have a long service life and non-maintenance.
The spring is installed against the seat which ensure the ball have a close contact with the seat, So under high temperature, pressure difference with high frequency, the low torque value leads to cost effetcive.
After the surface hardening treatment, the seat can be more widely used on cement, paper pulp, corrosive fluid, etc,. In addition, the fixed ball is suitable for medium containing dust.
