Forged Steel Piston Lift Check Valve

Our piston and ball check valves are designed to prevent backflow in the pipeline. In piston, or lift, check valves, a disc guided by the valve body moves within the body bore. The body guide ensures that the seat and disc are properly aligned when the valve closes.

PISTON CHECK VALVE: These valves open under the pressure of the fluid flowing through the system and close when there is a reversal of flow. In piston, or lift, check valves, a disc guided by the valve body moves within the body bore to maintain alignment between the seat and disc during closure. To install the valve correctly, ensure that the flow is directed under the disc, allowing inlet line pressure and flow rate to lift the disc off the seat, permitting fluid to flow through the valve. If the flow suddenly reverses, the disc will promptly and automatically return to the closed position, preventing backflow. It's essential to exercise caution when using these valves with contaminated media, as it may cause the disc to become stuck within the body bore.

BALL CHECK VALVE: Ball check valves function similarly to piston check valves but use a "ball" inside the body to control the flow. The ball can rotate freely, resulting in even wear and a wiping action between the ball and seat. This feature makes ball check valves suitable for handling viscous media.
