The design of angle pattern globe valves represents a modification of the conventional Tee Pattern Globe valve. In this design, the valve's terminations are set at a 90-degree angle, facilitating fluid flow with a single 90-degree turn. Although they possess a marginally lower flow coefficient compared to wye-pattern Globe valves, they excel in managing pulsating flow scenarios due to their adeptness in handling the slugging effect associated with such flow conditions.
An Angle pattern globe valve serves as an adapted iteration of the traditional "T"-Pattern Globe valve, featuring inlet and outlet connections positioned orthogonally. When deployed at a juncture requiring a change in piping direction, these valves obviate the need for an additional bend, consequently offering a reduced pressure drop compared to conventional "T" pattern globe valves. Angle valves maintain the core characteristics of stem, disc, and seat ring designs akin to conventional globe valves. However, their distinctiveness lies in the redirection of fluid flow, which undergoes a 90° turn within the valve body. This redirection translates to diminished flow resistance compared to a globe valve paired with an elbow, thereby streamlining the pipeline and expediting installation efforts. Beyond these advantages, angle valves continue to demonstrate efficacy in applications characterized by pulsating flow patterns, thanks to their capacity to mitigate the adverse effects of flow slugging.
